International Projects
The Rotary Club of Decatur’s International Service Water Project in partnership with The Rotary Club of David, Panama, Rotary International and District 6860 is nearing completion.
A well has been drilled and the water treatment plant is being installed at the site of the San Felix Center of Formation and Training, in the eastern part of the province of Chiriqui. The Center serves indigenous (Gnobe) people to assist them in developing skills for a better livelihood.
The Center will provide training in first aid, English, self-esteem, cooking, food preservation, human relations, cleaning, arts and crafts, construction, harvesting, forestry conservation, and self-sustainable farms for up to 2400 students and conference participants annually.
The water treatment plant, a critical factor in the successful operation of the Center, will provide 17,280 gallons of water per day.
